Czech Premieres of Chronicles of Melanie and Ministry of Love

Our two successful international co-productions, Latvian-Czech-Finnish film Chronicles of Melanie, which became the most watched film in Latvian cinemas in 2016, and sophisticated Croatian-Czech comedy, Ministry of Love, will both celebrate their Czech Premieres at the film festival Days of European Film, which will take place in Prague from April 6 to 13, 2017, and will then be followed by screenings also in the city of Brno and other small towns.
Chronicles of Melanie (World Sales: EastWest Distribution, Czech distributor: Bontonfilm) will be screened in the most beautiful Prague cinema Lucerna on Saturday April 8th at 20:30. The screening will be presented by the film's screenwriter and director Viestur Kairish, Czech sound designer Robert Slezák, Czech producer Julietta Sichel, as well as representatives of sound studio Sleepwalker and picture post-production house UPP. Apart from being a box office hit in Latvia, the film also received Best Cinematography Award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival 2016. Clips from Chronicles of Melanie can be seen in Czech TV's program Historie.cs to be broadcast on March 18th at 21:00, channel ČT 24.
Ministry of Love (World Sales: Starlight Entertainment, Czech distributor: CinemArt) will be screened in Lucerna/Prague on Monday April 10th at 18:30, then in Scala (Brno) on Friday April14th at 20:30, in Kino Panorama/Boskovice on Thursday 20.4. at 19:30. The premiere in Lucerna will be presented by Croatian actor Slobodan Milovanović, Czech sound designers Ludvík Bohadlo and Jan Paul and Czech producer Julietta Sichel. Ministry of Love described by Cineuropa as "amusing existentialist comedy bristling with sarcasm" and as film by "Croatian master of comedy" by Deccan Chronicles, is an audience pleaser which was shown at festivals such as Montreal, Chicago, Raindance London, Arras, Kerala and many others. The film opens in Czech cinemas on May 4th.
